About us
At Hidden Group, we are dedicated to creating unique and intimate experiences. Our journey began in 2020 with Hidden Omakase, where we set out to redefine dining in Houston. Recognized as one of the most outstanding omakase restaurants by Eater Houston, Hidden Omakase quickly became a cornerstone of our culinary vision. As we expanded with Sushi by Hidden, which has been hailed as one of the most romantic dining spots by Modern Luxury Magazine, and Norigami, celebrated as one of the best handroll experiences by Eater Houston, our passion for exceptional cuisine and immersive atmospheres only grew. Now, we're excited to bring our distinctive approach to Puerto Rico, continuing our commitment to excellence in every bite.
Chef Jimmy Kieu has made a name for himself in the Houston area with his focus on Japanese cuisine, particularly sushi.
Beginning his career at The Fish, a well-known Houston establishment, Chef Jimmy has spent over 20 years in the food industry. What started as a chance server position soon evolved into an opportunity to become a chef. Under the guidance of the owners of The Fish, Chef Jimmy honed his skills and eventually became the head chef at the restaurant. After six years at The Fish, he branched out to explore other opportunities, serving as the head chef at RA Sushi in Highland Village, KA Sushi, and The Blind Goat, among others.
Now, Chef Jimmy brings his two decades of experience to The Hidden Group as one of our head chefs.
Chef Marcos Juarez joined Hidden Omakase in November 2022, arriving from Uchi, where he played a key role in opening locations in Denver and Miami after starting his culinary journey in Austin. Growing up in Lubbock with six siblings, Marcos developed his love for cooking alongside his oldest sister. Inspired by a Japanese course during culinary school at the Art Institute of Austin, he pursued his passion, gaining experience at Austin’s APPLE campus before specializing in Japanese cuisine at Sushi NiNi and later at Uchi from 2017. With 14 years of culinary expertise, Marcos now brings his skills to Hidden Omakase, delighting Houstonians with his innovative approach to Japanese cuisine.
